Cultural Council of Victoria
The Cultural Council of Victoria was formed in 1978 to encourage, support, develop and strengthen the arts in Victoria. Since it began, the Council has
worked to provide public information and service, community outreach, arts in education and youth arts. In doing so, this organization addresses areas of
community need not served by any other group or agency. The Cultural Council is partially funded through hotel/motel tax revenues. Other sources of income include corporate and individual gifts,
program revenues and local, state and foundation grants. The Council offers many programs and services to the community. The Cultural Council furnishes information on thirty-eight art organizations in
the Victoria area.

Ballet Theatre The Victoria Ballet Theatre was establish in April 1984 for the purpose of promoting dance for the cultural benefit of Victoria and the surrounding communities. This
nonprofit organization offers Victorians and their neighbors a chance to see the arts without driving to the major cultural and artistic centers of Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston or San Antonio. Featuring dazzling
guest artists, local talent, beautiful costumes and sets, the Victoria Ballet Theatre presents two yearly performances for the enjoyment of Victoria residents. The yearly performance of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker
is a December tradition missed by few. In Spring, there's a Spring Gala, a mixed repertory program.
Theatre Victoria The Victoria Community Theatre, in the last decade, has become the largest Performing Arts organization in the Golden Crescent Area serving approximately 15,000
theatre enthusiasts per year. The Theatre plays host to six locally produced plays written by world famous playwrights and local Victoria talent, in additional to offering children's productions and a youth academy
to train young talent.
Victoria Symphony Society Any music lover in Victoria will tell you not to miss a single season of the Victoria Symphony. The Victoria Symphony Orchestra is a leading artistic force
in this area and patrons and the media alike praise its performances. It has also been featured in two hour long programs on National Public Radio. The Orchestra consists of approximately 65 talented musicians from
Victoria, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and other communities. Dedicated to excellence, the Victoria Symphony has attracted such acclaimed artists as Santiago Rodriguez, Nathaniel Rosen, Nancy Allen, David
Hickman, Peter Zazovsky and the late Leonard Rose. A typical season consists of five performances.
Victoria Bach Festival Founded in 1976, the Victoria Bach Festival is one of main Victoria's attractions. Each June, the four day festival features symphonic, chamber and choral works
from every period, with an emphasis on the baroque. Artists from Texas and all over the United States perform works by Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and many others. The festival has been featured on National Public Radio
and has performed in Goliad and San Antonio
Victoria Fine Arts Association The Victoria Fine Arts Association is known for bringing to Victoria such artists as Luciano Pavaroti, Roberta Peters, Fred Waring, Ferrante and
Teicher. The Association offers a season of five to six concerts per year and has been providing quality and diverse entertainment to Victorians for nearly 50 years.

The McNamera House
The McNamera House, originally built in 1869 by W.J. McNamera, a local cattle merchant, was given to the city of Victoria as a museum in 1959. this beautiful relic from Victoria´s past features
period rooms and 19th century landscaping and interprets everyday life and material culture in South Texas between 1876 - 1913. Many of the pieces in the museum come from historic Victoria residences. |

The Nave Museum
A product from a donation by Mrs. Emmie McFaddin McCan, the Nave Memorial Building was used as an art gallery for the works of Royston Nave, an artist from Victoria who achieved considerable success as a portrait
painter. The Nave Museum currently serves as an art gallery and headquarters for the South Texas Regional Museum Association. The Nave´s changing exhibits showcase historical and
contemporary fine art in a wide range of media which are accompanied by artist and scholar lectures, art workshops for all ages, seminars and concerts. |
